Tuition Fees & Living Costs

Scholarships are offered by all major universities and the New Zealand government (e.g., Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship).

Language Proficiency Requirements – IELTS / TOEFL

  • Undergraduate Programs:
    • IELTS: 6.0 overall (no band below 5.5)
    • TOEFL iBT: 80
  • Postgraduate Programs:
    • IELTS: 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0)
    • TOEFL iBT: 90–100

PTE and Cambridge English scores are also accepted. Some programs may require higher scores (e.g., Education, Law, Nursing).

Standardized Tests

  • Undergraduate: No SAT/ACT required
  • Postgraduate: No GRE/GMAT generally required
    (May be recommended for MBA or competitive business programs)

Application Process & Timeline

  1. 10–12 months before intake: Research programs via studywithnewzealand.govt.nz
  2. Prepare Required Documents: Academic transcripts, IELTS/TOEFL, passport, SOP, CV, LORs
  3. Apply to universities:
    • February intake: Apply by September–November
    • July intake: Apply by March–May
    • November intake: Apply by July–August
  4. Receive Admission Offer: Within 4–8 weeks
  5. Accept offer and pay fees to receive Confirmation of Enrolment
  6. Apply for New Zealand Student Visa (Fee: NZD $375)
  7. Travel to NZ: Arrive up to 1 month before program begins

New Zealand Student Visa – Requirements & Documents

  • Application Fee: NZD $375 (online)
  • Documentation fee: BDT 10,000 – 30,000 (for notarization, translation, courier, etc.)

Work While Studying & Post-Graduation

  • During Studies:
    • Up to 20 hours/week during academic sessions
    • Full-time during breaks
  • Post-Study Work Visa (PSWV):
    • 1 to 3 years depending on your qualification level and location
    • Graduates can work in any job and transition to permanent residence if eligible
